Why isn’t the plural of Sheep ‘Shipe’?
It would be lovely. I’m also quite a fan of saying Sheeps. Apparently I said it a lot when I was a wee’un. It’s just delightful.
We could be on a speeding train, going to somewhere pretty like Glasgow or Exeter and we could say “Oh, look at that small flock of shipe.” It would be gloriously quaint.
No? Just me then?

I think, because 'shipe' sounds like 'shite'. The sheep(s) might get upset. x
